    Store migration

Every old URL leads where it should, and Google can see it

We map every URL from the old store to the new one, carry over titles, descriptions and structured data, and watch Google Search Console after launch.

From a list of old URLs to watching traffic after launch

We prepare redirects before launch, not after the first errors.

    1. 1Every URL listedWe collect URLs from the sitemap, Google Search Console, Google Analytics and external links, including ones no longer in the menu.
    2. 2Redirect mapEvery old URL gets a new match: product, category or post. Discontinued products point to the closest category.
    3. 3Content for GoogleWe carry over titles, descriptions, headings and product structured data so search results look the same.
    4. 4Watching after launchWe check Search Console and Google traffic daily and fix 404s that get traffic right away.

    When redirects decide your sales

Much of your traffic is Google

Search brings a large share of orders and you can't afford to lose it for months.

    URLs will change format

The new platform builds URLs differently, for example /products/ instead of /produkt/.

    Links from elsewhere

Comparison sites, blogs and old campaigns link to the store and have to keep working.

The last migration cost you traffic

After the previous platform change, Google traffic dropped and took a long time to come back.

    Redirects on six platforms

Every platform has its own URL format and its own place for redirects. We build the map for the target platform.

    Shopify

URLs have fixed prefixes such as /products/ and /collections/. Redirects are imported into the admin from a file.

    WooCommerce

We set the URL format in WordPress and handle redirects on the server or with a plugin.

    PrestaShop

We set friendly URLs as close to the old format as possible and redirect the rest.

    Shopware

SEO URL templates are set to match old URLs, with remaining redirects added in configuration.

    IdoSell

Redirects are added in the admin, as far as the platform allows.

    Shoper

Redirects and URLs are set in the admin. We check the limits before launch.

How we check Google lost nothing

We compare traffic and visibility with the period before the migration and act on every error that gets traffic.

    1. 1Daily traffic from Google
    2. 2404s that get traffic
    3. 3Pages in Google's index
    4. 4Rankings for key phrases

You get a daily Search Console report for the first days after launch.

    Common questions

Will Google traffic drop after the migration?

Short fluctuations are normal while Google recrawls the pages. A full redirect map and carried-over content protect you from a lasting drop.

What about products we no longer sell?

We point them to the closest category or a successor product, so visitors from Google don't land on an empty page.

Do you move the blog too?

Yes. Posts, their URLs and redirects get the same treatment as products.

How long do you watch Search Console?

Most closely in the first weeks after launch. Then we hand over a report and a list of things to keep an eye on.
