Regular customers find their accounts and past orders in the new store
We move accounts with marketing consents, order history, discount codes and gift cards. After the migration customers log in and see what they bought.
From export to first login
Personal data only moves between your own systems.
- 1Accounts and consentsWe move customer details, addresses and marketing consents with the date they were given, so the newsletter doesn't reach anyone without consent.
- 2Order historyOrders with line items, amounts and statuses land in the customer accounts. Order numbers stay the same.
- 3Discounts and gift cardsActive discount codes and gift card balances move across so customers can keep using them.
- 4Passwords and loginIf the new platform accepts passwords from the old one, we move them. If not, customers set a new one with a single link from an email.

How we check customers are all there
We compare counts and check random accounts the way a customer would, before and after launch.
- 1Customer accounts
- 2Marketing consents
- 3Orders linked to accounts
- 4Active gift card balances
After launch we track how many regular customers log in and order again.
Common questions
Do customers have to sign up again?
No. Their accounts are waiting in the new store. If the platform won't take the old passwords, customers set a new one from an email link.
Is moving personal data GDPR-compliant?
Yes, because the data moves between your own systems for the same purpose. Marketing consents move with the date they were given.
Will order numbers change?
Old orders keep their numbers. New ones get numbering that doesn't clash with the old.
How do we tell customers about the change?
We draft the email and the on-site notice, and agree the send-out with you for launch day.
Tell us about your customer base
Let us know which platform you're moving from, how many customers you have and whether you use gift cards. We reply within one business day.
